PING Homepage UI / UX
USER REsearch . UX Design . Wireframing . Prototyping
“PING is committed to being the unquestioned leader in innovation, design, service, and quality…” This is how PING describes itself on its website. However, despite more than 60 years in the golf industry and numerous accolades, their current website could use some modern UI updates. The homepage, in particular, uses outdated verbiage and video players, has broken links, and most importantly, misses opportunities to get users shopping as quickly as possible.

Highlight #1 Homepage Carousel
The current PING homepage features a single hero image, which seems like a missed opportunity to introduce users to new products and generate engagement with calls to action. Below, you will find a proposed carousel with three hero images showcasing new products, each accompanied by a call to action.
Highlight #2 Shoppable Hotspots
Product ‘hot spots’ provide users with an overview of new products featured on the homepage, offering a quicker way to shop and access more information without having to search the entire webpage. These ‘hot spots’ can be added to products throughout the homepage for enhanced convenience and visibility.
Highlight #3 New Drop Down Menu
The current dropdown menu is overly busy and overwhelms users with too much information. Simplifying the dropdown menu can create a more enjoyable and straightforward browsing experience. Additionally, the search, user account, and shop options currently redirect users to a new page upon the first click. To maintain continuity, I have designed a new interface that allows users to interact with these features while staying on the same page.
Highlight #4 Updated Video Center
Currently, there are two separate sections for videos on the main homepage, which is unnecessary. Combining these into a single 'video center' will create a cohesive section for all videos. Additionally, integrating YouTube video players will make the page look more professional and user-friendly while promoting more views, as the videos will now be hosted on two different platforms.
Highlight #5 PING Moments in History
There is a small feature at the bottom of many pages called ‘PING Moments In History.’ While it's a great addition to the webpage, its current implementation is ineffective. It appears randomly on various pages, each showcasing a different moment. To improve this, I compiled all the moments and created a new interface that allows users to easily flip through and read all of them, rather than having to search the website for different features. This new interface also allows for easy addition of new moments.
